Tues 3/27- Portfolios, resumes, presentations oh my. This week has been a busy one with this 'simple' class. Today, for example, we did a little bit of zumba, worked on resumes and created powerpoint presentations!
Wed 3/28- Free massage day! yay! It's all about sharing and donating a little bit of time. I donated my time to get a massage from one of the massage students at school. It was super relaxing and I could totally use a nap. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .
Also, today in class we are learning about note taking (outline, mapping and cornell). I like the look of the cornell but I seem to be an outliner.
I still haven't finished the Red Sox socks yet :(

Ahhhh, the weekend :)
After being out of work since August and going back to school a week ago, weekends have taken on their old meaning again.... Getting things done and relaxing.
Here is a pic of the fog this week. We had unnaturally warm weather. Pic by Erick.

The first week of school was great. I'm really glad that I have the class that I do as it is making the transition back to school nice and smooth. It's all about focusing, studying, test taking (so far). Everyone in the class is so different, but hopefully we are all there to get through this program seriously. I hope I get through the program with a srsly positive result.
I went to the car dealership yesterday to get some work done on my aging car. I looked into the waiting area and saw another knitter. She says that she can knit four hats in one day! I wonder if I would ever be able to do that. She knit her hats flat, I knit in the round. I noticed one other person in the waiting area that was knitting; she knit with the yarn around the back of her neck.
It's little things that have reminded me lately how diverse we all really are, whether we are knitters or students. Different ways of learning for the students and different ways of carrying yarn for the knitters.
As an update to a previous post, I've finished both baby red sox socks and one of the daddy red sox socks :) Here's a new pic. They still need to have ends weaved in, washed and blocked but they are still cute!

Spring Renewal
This blog is no longer snoring. I'm resurrecting it for school at Lincoln Tech for the moment. I'm going to school to become a Registered Medical Assistant, Certified EKG Technician and Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
Today, we read over chapter 10 and had a pop quiz about reading everything before doing anything. My instructor, Mary, is pretty funny. She says what I could be thinking but wouldn't actually say (or stuff that I would say to my bestie).
Anyway, maybe I'll put stuff in here about knitting, since I'm still doing that (now making lots of socks!) or about homework or about how I'm too hot when it's 74 degrees in the classroom!?!?
Back in the summertime when I was hanging out with bestie at her condo before she moved to Florida, I would be super sensitive to the temperature to the degree. Guh. That's just a bit much, know what I mean?
So right now, I'm working on these Red Sox Socks. Here are Erick's, or at least one of his. This is the first one that I finished:

My friend Joe and his sparkly new wife, Karyn, had a lil bebeh named Donovan. This is one of Donovan's socks.
